Ava Taylor, founder and Chief Catalyzer of YAMA Talent, the world’s first management company and booking agency dedicated to holistically fostering the careers of yoga teachers. She is an avid yogi with extensive experience in sales, traditional & grassroots marketing, advertising and public relations, for companies such as Clear Channel & lululemon. A tenacious entrepreneur with her finger on the pulse of the rapidly expanding yoga industry, she is well connected, and the go-to strategist for top professional yoga teachers and brands looking to be relevant in the yoga marketplace. Committed to running an ethics based business, her personal mission is to fuel the education exchange and to be a catalyst for better living, by helping teachers to do what they do best, teach.
JC Wang, Operations Manager of YAMA Talent, began her journey to and in the United States to pursue a career in her ultimate passion, yoga. Leaving her native country of Taiwan in 2008, JC joined YAMA Talent in June 2010 after graduating from Emerson College with a Masters Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. Her professional experience for companies such as WeatherRisk and True Yoga, combined with years of self practice and experience as a professional yoga teacher in Taiwan allow her to provide insight into both the internal and external business of teaching yoga. Lovingly known as "Wang," her down to earth attitude and delicate execution gain her trust among YAMA's clients. JC fiercely believes that yoga is a tool for a better living, that it should be accessible to everyone, in every language. She is accomplishing this goal by bringing excellent yoga teachers to communities of all kinds around the world.
Bec Gathmann, Agent - Girl Friday - joins the team after being passionately inspired by YAMA since the first day it was founded. Bec graduated from Hampshire College with a degree in Community Health and Social Change, and has been a community organizer, public health advocate, and operations manager both in the US and abroad. She has worked for major game changing companies, as well as organizations in the non-profit sector; from Apple, to lululemon, REI and NARAL Pro-Choice NYC. Her drive and involvement in grassroots organizing, management, and coaching have given her a sharp business acumen with a focus on social entrepreneurship, action, and positive change. Her greatest and most life-changing experience, however, comes from yoga, as both a practicing student and teacher. She is honored to surround herself with so many inspirational yogis, many of whom she has admired for the greater part of her life, and is thrilled to be of service as they improve lives and change the world.
